"I have a present for you." Titania said to Cecily one bright, lazy afternoon. She sat on a toadstool basking in the sun - one of her favourite things to do. She gave a sly smile and beat her wings with excitement.
"Well, what is it?" Cecily asked, for she couldn't imagine what it could be.
Titania flitted into the air and did a loop-de-loo. She flew behind the toadstool she had been sitting on and brought out the most beautiful pair of purple fairy-made slippers! They were very soft and delicate, and they were covered with sparkly, beaded flowers. They curled up at the toes and had fringes woven from spider webs.
"Titania, they're wonderful!" Cecily exclaimed - she couldn't believe her eyes. "But they won't fit on my feet" she said sadly.
"Then wear them on your fingertips!" Titania exclaimed, and then she burst into gales of tinkling laughter.
Cecily laughed too. "Well, I will then!" And so she did.

Hi Corinne, Wonderful post, I love your story and I am enjoying it very much. I love the little slippers, so sweet. I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Hugs, Terri
ReplyDeleteI so love your altered book. I wish I could have seen this back in May. I had my 6th graders make a altered book for their poetry. I never could find any really good examples. Yours is just beautiful.

Corinne,I wanted to stop by and say hello. It has been ages since I've dropped in to see one of your awesome projects. The altered fairy book is to die for! I keep giggling to myself and thinking: My wings may be droopy but my breasts are still perky:) I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your childhood friend and I certainly understand about having to take breaks from blogging. I'm glad you've given yourself permission to keep your goal but extend the deadline. As they say, it's the journey not the destination. Hugs, Trishia
